- In honor of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and the thousands, even millions, of black men and women whose lives have been needlessly sacrificed, I post this dance (here) because it expresses what words cannot in response to the systemic violence perpetrated for centuries against African North Americans, African Europeans, Indigenous peoples and all peoples of color.

FACT-BC
FACT-BC stands for the Federation of Counselling Therapy in British Columbia. This very important organization is working hard to persuade the BC government to create a college under the Health Professions Act that protects the title of Counselling Therapist and regulates its members. It consists of 14 professional counselling organizations. This college would promote and ensure public protection, accessibility and accountability to serve the needs of British Columbians for safe support to develop and maintain optimal mental health.I am privileged to be the Alternate Representative for the NADTA (North American Drama Therapy Association) on the FACT-BC Board.
This video, created by FACT-BC (Federation of Counselling Therapy in British Columbia), demonstrates why it is crucial to regulate the profession of Counselling Therapy in BC. I encourage you to view it and to contact your MLA to let them know that you support this regulation. -
The Dance Movement Therapy Association of Canada
The Dance Movement Therapy Association of Canada was established in 2011 to promote Dance Movement Therapy in Canada. As Western Region Representative I am delighted to be a part of this ambitious and passionate group of ( mostly) women, who are devoted to DMT and to fostering its development in Canada. They are already members of a larger Canadian organization, the Partnership of Registered Psychotherapist Associations (PRPA).
